A Valentine’s Day Reflection on Love & Belonging

As The Heart That Found You continues to make its way into the world, I’m constantly reminded that a book’s life doesn’t end at launch. In many ways, it’s just beginning.

Over the past few months, the story has been embraced not only by families and educators, but also by publications that share a commitment to thoughtful, inclusive storytelling for children. I’m deeply grateful for the recent press support, especially as we head into a season that invites reflection on love and belonging in all its forms.

I’m honored that The Heart That Found You was:

Valentine’s Day often focuses on romantic love, but this book is a meaningful reminder that love is also about family, belonging and the many ways our hearts find one another. For children who are adopted, in foster care, or growing up in families that don’t always mirror the storybooks they see, that message matters deeply.  I’m grateful that The Heart That Found You has become a resource for many families as they explain to their children that there are multiple ways that families can be formed with love.

Looking ahead, I’m currently working on spring readings and events, and I’ll be sharing timing and locations soon.  I hope you will join me!
